Some bikes we liked so much we didn't want to see them go.
Apr-2010 The Niner WFO is a killer looking bike, and especially in the durable Milk-Dud Ano finish. This one is for our friend Greg, set up as a lower-mid weight long travel ride. With the marzocchi 44 x 140mm, 15mm TA, Stans Flows laced to oh-so-pretty BROWN Chris King hubset, and lots if nice pretty XTR goods, this is ready to ride. Greg will be rocking the Palisade singletrack on this Niner, then taking it home to Vegas. You might catch him at Bootleg on this WFO.
Here's Ahmy's Transition Trans-AM. "Nice bike" is one phrase that comes to mind. Another might be "lucky kid" as this bike is worth 10 times as much as the mountain bike my parents bought me when I was his age! Bikes design has come a long way - that's a 160mm travel fork on the front of a hardtail and it's not out of place.
It seems that we send half of our favorite bike builds off to other states "JUST FOR PLEASURE".
June 09 - Here's my good friend Charles' new MCR-9 on the trails outside of Bozeman. Built with an 09 Reba, SRAM X9 drivetrain, DT rims laced to XT hubset, and old reliable Hayes Mag's to keep him from speeding away, a pair of Oh MY Gosh 192 mm cranks (Charles got those himself from some German fellow), and assorted Thomson and Chris King bits. It's one of those no-fuss bikes, and Charles is sort of blown away by the ride of the MCR. Being a snappy, professional photographer, you'd think he'd know that pics are so much better with the person in them .... tough with a timer shot though. We're happy to have his photo's any way we can get them. Trail looks nice too!
May 09 - Well - the latest fun build has been with our good buddy Greg from Las vegas - all the way to Palisade for a NINER. For Greg's 08 RIP-9 we spec'd an 09 Reba Team 120mm fork, Rhythm Elite wheelset, XT and X-O drivetrain, Elixer CR brake set, and assorted Chris King and Thomson goodies to finish it out. We got it built up and our first ride was one of those perfect evenings.
John V's Niner RIP-9 with a White Brothers Fluid 135, Avid stoppers, and assorted RaceFace bits.
Kory M's Spot, loaded with Swiss goodness. Check out the carbon fiber lowers on the DT-Swiss XMC fork. This bike is just in time for Hallowween!
