Area Information

Palisade is a great little town nestled into the East end of the Grand Valley.  We enjoy a rich array of orchards, farms, vineyards, excellent wineries, breweries, distilleries, and accomodations of all sorts.  We sit at the base of the Grand Mesa and the Bookcliff range of mountains - both of which provide astounding local trails and scenery.  Cycling experiences here range from beautifull road and cruiser touring to ultra-challenging singletrack.  The NY Times published a feature article on Palisade in October 2008 that illustrates some of our unique local features.

Palisade is known for the Fruit Loop Cycling Tour. This tour includes three different routes and is a self-guided tour taking you through the heart of Palisade’s fruit and wine growing district. Enjoy spectacular vistas as you ride through a pastoral setting of orchards and vineyards. The easiest loop can be ridden on cruiser bicycles and is a great family ride. Contact Rapid Creek Cycles for more information on these rides and for Cruiser or Road bike rentals.

Palisade has a great selection of accomodations, restaurants, and night life for our small town.  If you are staying for a meal or an evening, we can recommend the following;

Accomodations:

Restaurants:

Our favorite places for a fabulous meal in Palisade are actually right across the street from Rapid Creek Cycles (nearly everything is 'right across the street' in palisade)

For a nice Cafe breakfast or lunch, or a relaxing glass of wine and hors d'oeuvres - The Palisade Cafe & Grill on 3rd St.

For a great dinner menu and relaxed atmosphere, go see Hiro at Inari's Bistro

Libations, Nightlife & Music:

For a great beer and a sandwich, we love The Palisade Brewery.

And there's also the sublime fine distilled beverages at Peach Street Distillers

If you drop by to see any of our friends in these places, tell them the guys from Rapid Creek Cycles sent you!
